Jim has a long history of service to Northern Oakland County as a business and community leader. He is the owner of Jim Tedder Productions and a former administrator with Clarkston Community Schools.
He is married to his best friend Nancy; together, they proudly raise three school-aged children. Jim was raised and still lives in the Clarkston area, a community he served as a school teacher and administrator before his election to the Michigan House in November 2014. Jim also maintains many family and business ties throughout north and central Oakland County.
Jim knows the rewards and challenges of self-employment, serving the community as a small business owner and active member of many local Chambers of Commerce, and as a lecturer to graduate business students through the Department of Marketing and Management at Oakland University. Jim has also served as a youth mentor through Clarkston Area Youth Assistance, Cubmaster to a local Cub Scouts pack and as a youth and middle school wrestling coach.
Jim graduated from Central Michigan University with an Applied Arts degree, double majoring in Political Science and Broadcast and Cinematic Arts. He also holds the degrees of Master of Business Administration and Education Specialist, both from Oakland University.
Business, government and community experience has given Jim the background needed to continue Michigan’s economic comeback and help Oakland County thrive. Please consider joining and supporting a principled and trustworthy business and community leader for state Senate.
